Improve Your Game With Correct Movement Of The Left Knee In Your Golf Swing
There was a time when golf instructors would teach that the left knee in your golf swing, if you were right handed, should not be broken down, but rather the left foot should be lifted up and replaced in a golf swing. However, as modern golf has taken a turn toward simplicity, this method has gone the way of the dodo.
The belief by instructors was that too many problems were resulting from the extra movement of the foot, so movement of the left knee in the golf swing replaced it as a trigger and weight shift mechanism.
Though you will sometimes see problems with the knee movement, it is an improvement. When the foot was being lifted and replaced, there were numerous things that could go wrong. With the movement of just the left knee in the golf swing, you really only see bad timing or, more commonly, you will see the left knee begin to collapse on the backswing.
The common problem with movement of your right knee in the golf swing is to collapse the left knee toward the right as you backswing. Here is a rip that can teach you proper movement of your left knee in the golf swing and the right knee: imagine your left knee going out in the direction of your target as you backswing. This should cause you to feel a certain tension in both of your knees. Then, use the break down movement in your left knee in the backswing to trigger your first move and you will see improvement.
