Here are three reasons why that is.

First of all, it will help you keep track of your scoring. A golf ledger book will let you know whether or not you are improving, score wise, and at what rate. Most people write down the puts per round or per hole as well, so you can see whether or not you need to give attention to your putting or short game as well.

Second, you will be able to see if you are gaining or losing yardage on your clubs at a glance. If you were hitting your 8 iron 140 yards, but are only getting 130 from it now, you will know there are probably some things you should examine.
